1. Unlock the Tortimer island. He will come visit you eventually as you progress through the game and invite you to his island.
2. Clear out your inventory completely
3. Board the ship to the island at the dock AFTER 7 PM. The reason for this is the beetles you will be catching only spawn after 7 PM.
4. Once you get there go outside and to your left will be a guy you can borrow tools from. Borrow an axe, a net, and a fishing rod.
